Bio: Ms. Franklin studied social work and psychology at the University of Iowa, graduating in 1973. She obtained her M.S. Ed. in Counseling from Iowa State University and holds a Certificate in Psychotherapy from the Alfred Adler Institute of Minnesota in addition to state and national licensure as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor. She worked as a medical social worker at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with primary responsibility for maternal/child areas of the hospital. She has been a psychiatric social worker and also served as the Executive Director of the Family and Children's Council of Black Hawk County.
