Dr. Gingerich-Boberg ("Dr. GB") was born in Luxembourg of American parents, and grew up in Indiana, Tennessee, and Virginia. He has degrees from Swarthmore College (BA in Biology), Cornell University (MS in Ecology), the University of Minnesota (MA in Teaching ESL), and the University of Wisconsin (MD). He has engaged in human rights and development work in Nicaragua, Cambodia, the West Bank, and Chiapas, Mexico. Before entering medical school, he worked for 7 years as a Spanish medical interpreter in Saint Paul, MN. He enjoys singing, playing piano, baking rhubarb pie, learning languages, bicycle commuting, and spending time with his wife Lori, and daughters: Simone and Josette. He is pursuing family medicine because family docs establish trusting long-term relationships with diverse patients, their families and communities, helping patients live to their healthiest potential at each stage of life.
